Chad’s Top Ten Attractions

If you love the action of horse/greyhound racing and casinos, the fun and frolic of world-class beaches and cultural and historical attractions then the Hallandale Beach/Hollywood/Aventura area is a great place to visit.  Some of the best family beaches in South Florida, awe inspiring natural habitats, most unique attractions and nighttime fun are awaiting you!  It was hard to compile this list because there is so much to choose from but below you will find my list of some of my favorite places to see and visit in the area.

#1 The Village at Gulfstream Park/Hallandale Beach


I love, love, love this place.  It is really a landmark as it is one of the most important venues for horse racing in the country but it is so much more with a casino,  restaurants, shops and live entertainment. ….and off the chart beautiful with the addition of the village to the historic race track.  A must visit when in Hallandale Beach.

#2 Hollywood Boardwalk/Hollywood


Named as one of America’s Best Beach Boardwalks by Travel and Leisure, The Hollywood Beach Boardwalk stretches two and a half miles along the Atlantic and is a haven for joggers, bicyclists, roller-bladers with loads of cafes and shops.

#3 Day at the Beach/Hallandale Beach

Whether it is Hallandale Beach, John U. Lloyd State Park, Dania Beach or Hollywood Beach the water is always crystal clear and sun is shining.  Take in the day at any of these locations and you won’t be disappointed.

#4 Everglades Holiday Park

Head west young man to the splendor of the Florida Everglades where you will go on an invigorating airboat ride, witness alligators and wildlife in their natural habitats.  You can’t go wrong when visiting the Florida Everglades.

#5 Mardi Gras Casino/Hallandale Beach

What do you get when you combine the fast action of greyhound racing, over 900 slot machines, live entertainment and great restaurants?  Mardi Gras Casino, silly!

#6 Oleta River State Park

Florida’s largest urban park located on Biscayne Bay with a variety of recreational activities that include off-road cycling, canoeing and kayaking, swimming and fishing.  A 1,200 -foot sandy beach with picnic tables and grills are available.

#7 Arts Park at Young Circle/Hollywood

This 10-acre circle named after the City’s founder is located in downtown Hollywood offers residents and visitors a wide array of visual and performing arts themed educational, recreational and entertainment activities.

#8 Art and Culture Center of Hollywood/Hollywood

Cultural center that features contemporary visual and performing arts shows and includes an adjacent art school.  Check out the displays and performance going on in the center’s main theater.

#9 The Ancient Spanish Monastery

Monastery cloisters from northern Spain relocated to Florida in 1964.  Spectacularly beautiful and the perfect backdrop for some photos to take home with you.

#10 Miami Auto Museum @ the Dezer Collection/North Miami

Features the largest eclectic transportation collection in the world. Museum houses the world’s largest privately held display of all thing James Bond and you won’t want to miss all those Batman vehicles.
